Clinicians
Chris Adams Richards, LCSW
I specialize in helping clients find self-love and joy as they heal from grief, loss and trauma. Often times we blame ourselves for the trauma or losses we experience – even if what happened was beyond our control. We ruminate on how things could, or should, have been different. I help clients come to accept “what is” and work through the depression, anxiety, anger and heartache that often follows painful experiences. I use mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, EMDR, feminist multicultural perspectives and empowerment techniques to help clients increase their self-acceptance and find lasting peace of mind.
I am passionate about helping clients speak their truth and create lasting change by moving through life experiences such as: death of loved one or pet, divorce or breakup, infertility, miscarriage, change in role or identity, trauma, PTSD, sexual assault, domestic violence, spiritual crisis, and recovery from addiction.
I am dedicated to helping clients experience a deeper and more fulfilling emotional life as they learn to let go of self-defeating beliefs and the pain of grief. I offer appointments Monday through Thursday 11am – 4pm. New clients can usually be seen within a week.
